Day 104 - Purple and Gray Plaid

It's Friday! There should be some snow hitting tonight and tomorrow. Actually kinda looking forward to it. Thinking I am gonna have a fire tonight.

Made some Onion Bisque soup last night for dinner. Having the leftovers for lunch. In case you didn't know, I really do love soup. Been known to order more than one for a meal. And this winter I have been making more and more varieties from scratch. Hot and Sour, Cheddar Cheese, Vegetable, Crab Chowder, Mushroom, Tortellini, etc.  Planning on making a Italian soup with seafood tomorrow. Yummy!

In keeping with my soup love, I've decided today's top five Friday list is gonna be my Top Five Favorite Soups.

1. French Onion Soup - Who can resist that melted cheese. I especially love when it's all burnt and crusted to the bowl. Man it's been a long time since I've had a good bowl of French Onion soup. I really need to get my hands on that.

2. Italian Wedding Soup - Meatballs, Pasta, and Spinach. What more could you want?

3. Hot and Sour Soup - I order this pretty much every time I eat Chinese food. I love the spiciness. I have made two different versions of this at home, both of which were surprisingly good and simple. There's something about that combination of Tofu, Eggs, Green Onion, Mushrooms, Bamboo Shoots that's just perfect.

4. Mushroom Soup - I adore mushrooms. So I like pretty much any kind of mushroom soup. The club at my grandparents condo used to have the best Cream of Mushroom soup. It was the perfect consistency, not too thick with just the right amount of mushrooms.

5. Tortellini Soup - This is a soup my mom used to make that I now make quite often. The base is Lipton Noodle Soup, then you add cheese tortellini, chicken broth, and spinach. It's very easy to make, but so great to eat. I like to sprinkle on some Parmesan on top. I made a huge batch last week and ate it for a few days. I don't really tire of Tortellini Soup. Yum! I don't have a picture of this one so you will just have to use your imagination.

Some of my other favorite soups: Pasta Fagoli, New England Clam Chowder, Wonton, Egg Drop, Miso, Baked Potato, Cheddar Cheese, Crab and Corn Chowder, Seafood Chowder, Lobster Bisque, Minestrone. Ok pretty much I like all soups except Tomato and Split Pea. There are probably others I dislike but right now all I can think of is how much I want to eat a nice big bowl of soup. Think it's probably time to heat up my lunch :)

Day 103 - Blue Dogs

There are some pretty ugly poodles on these socks. They entered my collection before I realized how much more wonderful cats are than dogs!

By the way, how cute is my Mia!!!!

Little does she know tomorrow we have to go in for her annual check up. I hope all is good with my girl. I know she needs to go on a diet. Hoping the vet can give me an idea how to do that.

Took down the Christmas tree today. Still have up the non tree decorations. They can wait til tomorrow. It's too much work to do it all in one day. My dining room looks a lot bigger without the tree in it. A lot lest festive though : (

Day 102 - Mismatched Stripes

Another pair from the mismatched box set I got in NYC. The pink sock I already wore once since they come in a set of 3. I still don't understand that.

Ever since New Year's Eve I have been staying up WAY past my bedtime. Last night I watched TV til after 1am. Been so caught up watching Oz that I completely missed the fact that new TV shows are back on. I thought we had to wait another full week for them to return. I wonder if there's a new Amazing Race this winter. I do love that show. And I wonder when the new season of Survivor starts.

Have another 5 books ready for pick up at the library. I love that you can request books online and if they are at any library in the NOBLE system they are there in a few days. It's awesome! I really hope once I get a job I can keep reading regularly. I always used to get caught up with TV and slack on book reading. So glad to have the time to do it now. The library really has been the best find of my 3 months of unemployment.

Day 99, 100, and 101 - Start of 2011

And so another year has begun. Haven't been feeling the greatest so the last three days have consisted of library book reading,Oz watching, and kitty cuddling. Ran out to the library this morning so I could get some new material. I read 4 books since I got back so I was in need. Finally getting around to doing laundry today. I have like 5 loads.

Haven't made any efforts to take down the Christmas decorations. I haven't felt like it, plus they are so pretty it will be sad to be without them. Thinking I may wait til the weekend. I would keep them up for longer but I don't wanna be that crazy person who has decorations up until Spring.

Sorry the last few posts are so short and uninteresting, but things should improve once I start to feel better. Hopefully that is soon!!

Dayt 97 and 98 - End of 2010

Spent the last two days of the year at home, recooperating from the trip to FL. It was nice to be alone for a while. And being home with the kitties is my favorite thing ever! Also managed to read through another 2 library books.

For New Year's Eve I went to a party at Katie's house. It was a good time. Played some beer pong, which I definitely need some practice at. Rang in the New Year with friends, which hopefully will help my 2011 karma as I so want this year to be better than the last.

Days 94, 95, and 96 - Orlando

Spent 2 days in Orlando after Christmas. Got in Monday December 27th. Hung out with the Wardle clan before having sushi at Wazzabi. Spent the rest of my visit at Christine's. We had Mexican, ate Indian, saw Tangled, and hung with her kitties. We also witnessed a touch of Wild Kingdom in her backyard, a stray cat returning to his lair with squirrel in it's mouth. That was a sight to see. Cats are quite the hunters. All in all it was a nice short visit.

The trip back was delayed a few hours so I had spent some quality time in the Orlando airport. Got home and had to do some shoveling to get to the front door. Good Times!
