Day 11 - Blue Adidas

Happy Saturday!!!

Since today is a lazy pants day, decided to wear a boring pair of socks. No need to wear pretty socks to clean and go to the spa. Need to get all the cleaning done pre-spa so I don't ruin my massage with the pain of vacuuming.

In other news, my smoke detector is possessed. I moved into this apartment in May. Between May and July I had to replace the battery three times, which wasn't easy in the boot. Thought it was cause the battery cover was missing so I asked my landlord for a replacement. A few weeks passed issue free, then as it started to get cooler my showers got warmer causing more steam, which set the replacement smoke detector off every day. So once I realized this wasn't a fluke I took it down. Purchased a new one for myself, which supposedly minimizes false alarms and can be silenced using a TV remote. Installed it last night after work. For some reason the damn thing started beeping at 4am this morning. Think it was a test beep, but it woke me up from a dead sleep. And scared the crap out of the cats.  Dragged my ass out of bed to take it down. Fiddled with the battery and it stopped. So not what I wanted to be doing at 4am. Now I am almost nervous as to what is going to happen and when it's going to go off. Seriously how can 3 different smoke detectors cause so me so much grief!! There has to be something possessing it. And it needs to STOP!!

Day 10 - More Monkeys

Feeling in a Monkey kind of mood I guess.

I am SOOOO happy it's Friday!!! I am really looking forward to the weekend. Going to the spa for a much needed massage and facial tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait!! And tonight I have a phone date with Kim. Excited for that too! In case you don't know what a phone date is, I'll explain. Overall I am kind of bad at the phone. I never think to just pick it up and call someone. However I like being able to stay in touch with my friends who I don't live in the same state. So began the need for phone dates. We agree on a time to chat and make no other plans for the night.  And since it's Friday night and with Kim it means there defnitely will be drinking involved.  Phone dates can last for a few hours, so it's like spending the evening hanging out with one of my friends, only at home in my pjs. I know it may sound weird, but I love them!

PS. I have two pairs of these socks, so don't think I am cheating when you see them again later.

Day 9 - I heart Monkeys

Wow I'm tired today! Think I did too much stuff and not enough sitting last night. I didn't even get to watch the Big Brother finale or the Survivor premier. So glad I have a DVR cause I'll get to watch them tonight.

Since I'm thinking about TV, I can't believe the new Fall  season is starting so soon. I need to spend some quality time with my DVR to get all my series set up. Looking forward to the return of The Amazing Race, How I Met Your Mother, Dexter and Criminal Minds. Plus I'm excited to watch a few of the new shows, Blue Bloods, Lone Star and Boardwalk Empire. However I am sad that two of my faves. Cold Case, and Numb3rs, were cut from the lineup. Neither show had a series finale. However, I think the thing I'll miss most from TV this fall is Stella from CSI:NY : (  I wonder how they are going to explain that.

Oh tv, how can you give me so much joy, yet so much pain all that the same time.

Twice in one Night!

Forgot to tape up drawers after putting the socks back in the bottom drawer. So Simon struck again when I was out visiting Steph and Scrappy.  Now it's time to clean up and the blue and purple drawer then for sure tape it back up. Oh my sweet Simon....how can you be such a little bandit when Mommy's not home!

The Sock Bandit Strikes Again

Cleary there was some foreshadowing in this morning's post as I came home to this lovely mess of socks. I thought one sock had gone missing. I frantically searched the entire house for it. Thankfully I found it under the rug! Losing socks is not acceptable!

So I think this means it's time to put the tape back on the drawers. Simon, the Sock Bandit has yet to figure out how to remove that.  I so need to find a better way to keep my socks safe.

Day 8 - Purple Flowers

In case you haven't figured it out yet, I LOVE Purple! I have a purple couch to prove it. Not to mention my dishes have purple on them. Also have been carrying a purple purse. Have purple rugs, towels, sheets, pillows, doc martens, shirts, skirts, etc.  Really I'm a fan.

My kitty Simon really likes to break into my sock drawers and pull all the socks on the ground. So when I wake up or come home there's a giant pile of socks on the floor. Sometimes strewn about the house with the help of Miles. For the last few months I've had the drawers taped shut. Yes taped. Surprisingly that's not really convenient so last week I took off the tape. Took until this morning at 5am for Simon to notice. He got 2 drawers open but I caught him before he pulled all the socks out. It's funny that all his misbehaving is pretty much sock related. He also pulls them out of my laundry basket. Nothing else, just my socks. Think my boy likes socks as much as I do :)  One day I hope to take of a picture of him in the act of sock stealing. It's definitely a site to see.

Day 7 - Kitties!!!

Kitties are the best, both on socks and in real life! Not only does the cool weather mean no sweating inside my apartment, but it means my kitties are sleeping with me at night. Which is one of my most favorite things!!!

I so can't believe I went most of my life not touching or liking cats. Oh how things have changed... And to think none of it would have happened if Eric wasn't my roommate. Somehow his cat, Xerxes, melted my cold cat hating heart and I couldn't be more thankful for that. Here's to you Big X!

Day 6 - Grumpy

Mondays make me Grumpy. So does coming to a dead stop on the interstate at 6:50am.

I am a big fan of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I say that staring at my Seven Dwarf desk set. Each dwarf has it's own function. Doc has a pencil holder. Dopey is holding a tape dispenser. Sleepy is sleeping on the stapler. Bashful holds my paper clips. Think you get the idea. It's been with me since my first day of work. I love it!

Day 5 - Blue and White

I love Sundays!! Gonna check out the Victorian Fair happening in downtown Melrose. So I tried to find some socks that were sorta Victorian, but I don't even know what that would look like.  Instead I present these. They kinda look like clouds. The had those back in the Victorian days.

FYI, I think I have had these socks since High School.
