Day 2 in New Jersey. Plans seem to be changing by the minute. So who knows how the day will end up. Wanted to get something posted before I forget tho. These socks are pretty friggin awesome actually. I love that the frogs are doing all kinda of things. They are super cute.
Socks are one of the greatest clothing accessories. It's time someone started paying attention to them.

Day 55 - Gray Monkeys
Spent the day driving to Jersey. Saw Andrea for lunch. Meet the new little Falcone, Luke. Jack and I spent some quality time reading books together. It was a nice little visit. Then I headed off to Kim. That ended up being the longest journey imaginable. The trip from Melrose to Paramus took 3:15hrs but the last 70 miles from Andrea to Kim took almost 2:30hrs. I was not a happy camper!! Luckily Kim and I still managed to make it out for a nice dinner. And oh how I like good dinners. Tried Coq Au Vin for the first time. It wasn't anything fantastic but it's a classic French dish and I felt like my snobby ass should I at least try it once. For those of you who don't know, it's chicken in a burgundy wine sauce with vegetables. It isn't my favorite thing ever but now I can say I've had it. :)

Day 54 - Mismatched Comfy Socks
Trying out the mismatched socks I bought in NYC. You will see one of them again when I wear the third sock. Still have had no good ideas on how to fold them.
No big plans for the day. Just packing for Jersey. I really don't know why I am such a slacker packer. Maybe cause I am so good at knowing what I want that I don't need to do it early. For a girl who loves to get away you'd think I'd have some more interest in it since it means time away from home. Looking forward to the weekend. Heading to see Andrea on my way in tomorrow, then spending the rest of the weekend with Kim. We are heading into NY on Friday to see Elf on Broadway. That should be a fantastic good time. I can't wait!
The cats are all staring into the fireplace. Wonder if there's some kind of wildlife in there. I hope not. I don't want to deal with any creatures past the cats. Hopefully they can take care of it without me. They all look pretty intense.

Day 53 - Red Flames
Here are the pics from me in the sock store. I was so excited in the store! I would have more excited if they sold matching socks. I think I am too left brained for mismatched socks in packs of three. How do you fold them? What color do you classify them as? Won't they wear unevenly? Anyway I bought a sampler pack to try them out. I was debating buying 2 of the same set to get 3 matched pairs of socks.
I wonder if there are any matching sock stores around here. Wonder if I could have my own sock store one day. I so think I should. It would be sooooooo awesome.

Day 52 - Sleep Stripes
After my busy weekend I am super tired. So after the gym I put on my PJs. I do feel a little wrong PJing it up at noon, but it needed to be done. It's a cold rainy day so it makes it even better. Plus my kitties are showing me a lot of love today. Mia is on my lap behind the computer right now actually. Gonna catch up on some TV, finish my book, and be lazy the rest of the day. I should upload my pictures from my weekend away, but that might be too much effort for me. We'll see....
Day 49, 50, and 51 - NYC Trip

Friday - Left super early for NYC. Took the bus to the subway to the bus terminal. The Bolt Bus to NYC wasn't bad. Meet up with Bridget and Meghan at the Palace hotel. We went out for lunch then did some sightseeing. Went to Rockefeller Center, and Central Park. Went to two different sushi places for dinner. Had appetizers at one and then dinner at another in Times Square. Bridget got to see all the craziness that was. The entire day was a TON of fun. A lot of laughs for sure!!

Saturday - Even got the view from the hotel in the background :) Had another great day in the city. Went to the Empire State Building. And a random street fair where we had deep fried Oreo's and bought WAY too many scarves. Then headed to Madam Toussaud's Wax Museum, which was an obscene amount of fun. Left Bridget and Meghan at 4. They met up with a friend from FL and I moved to a new hotel with Elyse. Went out for some Italian food with her friends, and then to a bar for the night. Somehow managed to stay up til the wee hours.

Sunday - Elyse and I did some marathon watching from the TV in the hotel lobby as we tried to stay awake. Headed out to 88th and 1st. Watched the marathon for like 3 hours from there. Saw her cousins and Ian. Still don't get why anyone would want to run a marathon. It's one hell of an accomplishment though. After the race we met Elyse's brother for dinner. On the way we found a sock store!!! Yes I said Sock Store!! There were like a million socks in the store!! Of course I bought some. The weird thing about the store was that all the socks were mismatched and in sets of three. Totally bizzaro but cool. After dinner, Elyse and I headed back to Boston.
Overall it was a fun trip. I loved spending time with Bridget and Meghan. We had so much fun. Came home with a new hat, scarves, and some mismatched socks. What more could I ask for :)
